Find your renewal dates

Enter the “Admit Until” date from your current I-94 record. You can look it up at i94.cbp.dhs.gov. It’s not your passport’s expiry date.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to TNPath.

How the dates are worked out

  • 90 days before: start preparing. Confirm the job, dates and pay with your employer, ask for a new support letter and gather current documents. TNPath’s renewal guide suggests starting about three months ahead.
  • 30 days before: final check that the signed letter and documents are ready.
  • The I-94 date: your current TN period ends. Your I-94 record controls how long you can stay, not the letter.

Each new TN period is granted for up to three years (8 CFR 214.6(e)). These are planning dates, not legal deadlines, and the calculator doesn’t assess your status or eligibility.

Common questions

When should I start my TN renewal?

TNPath’s renewal guide suggests starting about three months before the Admit Until date on your I-94. That leaves time for your employer to prepare and sign a new support letter and for you to gather current documents. Confirm the date on your I-94 record at i94.cbp.dhs.gov.

Which date should I enter?

The “Admit Until” date on your most recent I-94 record. Your I-94 controls how long you can stay in TN status. It isn’t your passport’s expiry date or the end date in your employer’s letter.

Does the calculator store my date?

No. It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent to TNPath. The calendar file is created on your device.

What if the date has already passed?

The calculator shows that the date has passed. If you’re still in the U.S., get independent advice from a U.S. immigration lawyer before you act. TNPath doesn’t assess individual situations.

Will TNPath tell me whether I qualify?

No. TNPath is a document-assembly tool. It organizes the facts you provide into templates and gives general information. It doesn’t make eligibility determinations or recommend case-specific strategy. Only U.S. Customs and Border Protection decides whether to admit you.
