Calculate your fees

Choose where you’ll apply and who is applying with you. The calculator adds up only the government fees for applying in person at the border or at airport preclearance.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to TNPath.

Confirm current fees with CBP before you travel.

How the fees are worked out

  • $50 TN fee: paid for the TN applicant only.
  • $30 I-94 fee: charged for each person issued an I-94 at a land port of entry. CBP charges the I-94 fee only at land ports, so there is no I-94 fee at airport preclearance (CBP: I-94).
  • No TN fee for family in TD status: the regulation says there is no fee for admitting a spouse and unmarried minor children in TD status.
  • No visa fee: Canadians pay no visa fee for TN.
  • Fees change: confirm current fees with CBP before you travel.

Common questions

How much are the government fees for a TN visa at the border?

The government fees are $50 for the TN itself, plus $30 for the I-94 for each person issued an I-94 if you apply at a land port of entry. At airport preclearance there’s no I-94 fee. Canadians don’t pay a visa fee.

Does my spouse pay the $50 TN fee?

No. The regulation says there’s no fee for admitting the spouse and unmarried minor children in TD status. At a land port, the $30 I-94 fee applies to each person issued an I-94.

Why is there no I-94 fee at airport preclearance?

CBP charges the I-94 fee only at land ports. Its 2025 notice says it won’t assess the fee for people arriving at an air or sea port of entry, because they aren’t required to apply for an I-94.

What if my spouse or children aren't Canadian citizens?

They need TD visas from a U.S. embassy or consulate before travelling. Those visa fees are separate and are not included in this calculator. See TD status for your family. If you live outside Canada and are entering with non-Canadian family members, the State Department says you need a TN visa too, which is a consular process with its own fees (see TN visa cost in 2026).

Will TNPath tell me whether I qualify?

No. TNPath is a document-assembly tool. It organizes the facts you provide into templates and gives general information. It doesn’t make eligibility determinations or recommend case-specific strategy. Only U.S. Customs and Border Protection decides whether to admit you.
